We pride ourselves on being a mission-driven organization. But in our fast-paced, evolving industry we must be willing to adjust and embrace change to ensure we are able to meet future needs. This proactive approach means we are always looking for volunteers to help us achieve our goals and ensure Missourians have the right to homeownership.
We offer a variety of opportunities for you to get involved regardless of age, skill, interest, or time availability. Whether it is chairing a committee, serving on an output group, or advocating for property rights in your community, we have a place for you! By serving, you have the opportunity to build leadership and business skills, develop your professional network, develop industry relationships, and contribute to our industry in a positive way.
There has never been a better time to seek a leadership role in our organization. Our industry is experiencing growth and change and we need smart, hard-working, dedicated REALTORS® to help lead the charge. Leadership opportunities and applications are outlined below.

2025 O2 Appointment Timeline
State Director
State Directors conduct the affairs and establish all policies of Missouri REALTORS®. the Board of Directors approves the annual budget for the State Association. Board of Directors meetings are held during our three business conferences each year. Each Local Board/Association is able to appoint a certain number of Directors based on their membership count. Communicate with your Local Board/Association about your interest in serving as a State Director.
NEW as of 2022: Missouri REALTORS® Life Members/REALTOR® Emeritus Members: The Leadership Team shall appoint up to three (3) Directors each year for a one-year term. These Directors will be selected by the Leadership Team from a pool of Life Member and REALTOR® Emeritus Member applicants. You will apply within this application form as well.
National Director
National Directors represent Missouri REALTORS® at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) level. Members of the NAR Board of Directors have duties and responsibilities for governing our association, and the association counts on directors to participate as we deliberate issues that impact our members’ daily business lives. NAR appoints a certain number of directors annually, per state, based on membership count. Within Missouri, when one or more vacancies for the office of National Director, nominations for candidates are solicited and accepted from all Local Boards/Associations of Missouri REALTORS®. National Director terms are three years.
To serve as a National Director you must be a REALTOR® member in good standing, actively engaged in the business of real estate. You must have served in some capacity within NAR governance, a state or local association, or NAR Institute, Society, or Council.

State Officer
The officers of the State Association include the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Treasurer CEO. These State Officers, along with the Treasurer-Elect, comprise the Leadership Team. Do you have a vision for Missouri REALTORS®? Have you served on a state committee and/or in a leadership role for at least four years? If so, you may want to consider applying to be a candidate for Missouri REALTORS® Treasurer. Review the application packet for more details. Elections for Missouri REALTORS® officers are held annually during the January Board of Directors meeting at the Winter Business Conference. Leadership and Mission Committees
Our Governance Structure is comprised of five Leadership Committees:

- Diversity & Inclusion Committee
- Bylaws & Policy Committee
Three mission committees oversee their respective output groups ensure that all business activities are helping to fulfill the 3-part mission of Missouri REALTORS®. These mission committees are:
- Advocacy Committee
- Member Engagement Committee
- Risk Management Committee
- Commercial Forms Committee *There is a limit of 11 members that may serve on this committee.
- Residential Forms Committee *There is a limit of 11 members that may serve on this committee.
Various output groups report to each of these committees. You can also apply to serve on output groups using the Leadership Role form, below.
The deadline to apply for all 2025 O2 leadership positions was May 15, 2024.
Statewide Professional Standards Committees
There are five Statewide Professional Standards Committees that determine ethics and arbitration matters that are filed with Missouri REALTORS®.
- Grievance Committee
- Professional Standards Committee
- Arbitration Committee
- Mediation Committee
- Citation Committee
The deadline to apply for all 2025 Statewide Professional Standards Committees was May 15, 2024.
Join an Output Group
The quickest and easiest way to get involved within our organizational governance structure, O2, is to join an output group. Output groups are open groups that are designed to identify needs within a specific area and develop plans to fulfill those needs. Plans proposed by the output groups are approved by and carried out under the guidance of Missouri REALTORS® Mission Committees: Advocacy, Risk Management, Member Engagement.
Output groups meet in person three times a year at our business conferences in addition to conducting business and communicating in between meetings through the use of conference calls and their respective community on THE LANDING. Output groups are designed to allow members to have an active role in Missouri REALTORS® regardless of whether or not they can attend all in-person meetings. Members may join an output group at any time by completing the form below or attending an output group meeting at a business conference.
