Emerging Issues Forum | NAR Settlement Update 

The National Association of REALTORS® settlement agreement, to resolve litigation related to broker commissions, has created a lot of questions and confusion for REALTORS®, clients, and consumers. Mitchell Skinner, Attorney and Managing Member of Larson Skinner, and General Counsel and Vice President of Risk Management, Robert Campbell, will provide an overview of what changes this settlement could bring, what isn’t changing, and share resources to help you stay up-to-date on this issue. Moderated by Kalan Hubbard and Tammy Sherrell-Shortt, the Chair and Vice Chair of Missouri REALTORS® 2024 Strategic Planning Committee.

Mitchell A. Skinner 

Attorney and Managing Member, Larson Skinner, PLLC

Mitchell A. Skinner is an attorney based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is the managing member of the firm Larson Skinner, PLLC. He focuses his practice on intellectual property portfolio creation, management, and licensing, and other transactions related to the firm’s practice areas. Mitch provides counsel to creatives, tech companies, multiple listing services, REALTOR® associations, and real estate brokerage firms. He often associates with MLS local and in-house counsel where his deep experience with MLS vendor contracts and MLS data licensing proves beneficial. Mitch also acts as corporate and intellectual property counsel for the Real Estate Standards Organization and provides support counsel to the Council of Multiple Listing Services.

General Counsel and Vice President of Risk Management, Missouri REALTORS®

Robert joined Missouri REALTORS® after spending time in private practice where he gained experience in multiple facets of the law, including: contract disputes, business transactions, civil litigation; family law, and criminal litigation. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Columbia College in Business Administration with emphases in Marketing and Management and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and is a member of the Missouri Bar.
