James W. (Jim) Asbury, CRS, GRI, SRES
2008 President

James W. (Jim) Asbury, CRS, GRI, SRES, a REALTOR® from Blue Eye, Missouri will serve as 2008 President of the Missouri Association of REALTOR®. Asbury has been a REALTOR® since 1985, and co-owner of ERA Table Rock Realty in Branson since 1989.

A member of the Tri-Lakes Board of REALTORS®, Asbury served as Board President in 1997, and was awarded their REALTOR® of the Year in 1998 and again in 2003. He has chaired various committees at his local Board and Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR).

At the state level Asbury has chaired the following committees: District Vice President’s caucus, License Law, Standard Forms and Professional Standards. He has served many years on the Strategic Thinkers Group, Plan of Action and Executive Committee. He is also a member of MAR’s Honor Society and an active supporter of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and the CENTER for Education and Private Enterprise.

Asbury has served as a Director for the National Association of REALTORS® continually since 2003, and has served on their Education and Federal Taxation committees.

Jim has been active in his local community with Habitat for Humanity and his local Lions Club, where he served three separate terms as president and helped establish and build the Blue Eye Lions Club Community Center. Asbury has been a corporate sponsor of MDA, helping to raise more than $500,000 in the past ten years. He also serves on the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Retirement Committee.
 
 
T. David Rogers, ABR, CCIM, CPM, CRB, GRI
2008 President Elect

T. David Rogers, ABR, CCIM, CPM, CRB, GRI, a REALTOR® from Independence, Missouri will serve as 2008 President Elect of the Missouri Association of REALTORS®.

A REALTOR® for more than 30 years, Rogers is Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Heartland, REALTORS®. As a RE/MAX broker he was named Broker/Owner of the Year by RE/MAX International in 1987 and four different times by the RE/MAX Mid-States Region.

Having served as MLS President three times and as the Board President three times, Rogers was instrumental in consolidating the various MLS groups in the metropolitan Kansas City area into the current Heartland MLS and creating the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® (KCRAR). David Rogers spearheaded the Merger Task Force/Design Committee for the Metro Kansas City and Johnson County Boards of REALTORS® and was chosen as the Charter President of the KCRAR in 2001. He was honored with their Distinguished Service Award in 2002 and has been named REALTOR® of the Year three times. As a 20+ year member of the metropolitan Kansas City chapter of Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) Rogers was named their REALTOR® of the Year for 2005.

At the state level David has served as Vice Chair of the District Vice President’s caucus, Chair of the CENTER Committee, and Chair of the Strategic Thinkers. He received the 2007 Richard A. Mendenhall Award for his service as a REALTOR® leader. He is a CENTER trustee, a member of MAR’s Honor Society and a Golden “R” member of RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee). Rogers also has served three years in the past as a Director for the National Association of REALTORS®.

Active in his local community David served as President of Center Place Improvement, Inc., a senior citizen housing initiative, 1975-2004; chairman of the Independence Council for Economic Development, 2003-2005; and a director of the Kansas City Area Development Council, 2003-2004. Rogers is a member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Independence, an active member of the Community of Christ, a Graceland University alum, and a Viet Nam veteran. He and his wife, Diane, have two grown children. David enjoys playing basketball and riding his Harley Davidson whenever he can.

 
 
Elizabeth Mendenhall, ABRM, CIPS, CRB, GRI, LTG, PMN
2008 Treasurer

Elizabeth Mendenhall ABRM, CIPS, CRB, GRI, LTG, PMN, will serve as the 2008 Treasurer for the Missouri Association of REALTORS®. She is the CEO for RE/MAX Boone Realty in Columbia, Missouri. She has been a REALTOR® since 1997 and is a sixth generation REALTOR®.

Mendenhall served as the 2004 President of the Missouri Women’s Council of REALTORS®, and currently serves as the 2008 National Association of REALTORS® Liaison to Association Leadership. She was the 2003 President of the Columbia Board of REALTORS® and also their REALTOR® of the YEAR.

Mendenhall feels it is important for REALTORS® to be involved with their local, state and national associations, because of the impact the decisions have to every day business and the opportunity we each have to contribute to the direction of our profession. She is committed to helping REALTORS® achieve their goals through planning and visionary thinking.

Elizabeth is very active in the community, has served on the board of directors for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the local United Way, Job Point and is the founder and current President of Mid-Missouri Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

 
 
Bruce Aydt, ABR, ABRM, CRB, SRS
2008 MAR Immediate Past President

Bruce Aydt, a REALTOR®, attorney and educator from St. Louis, Missouri will serve as 2007 President of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® (MAR), the state’s largest trade association with more than 27,000 members.

Aydt has been involved in the management of real estate brokerages for more than 25 years, currently as senior vice-president and general counsel of Prudential Alliance, REALTORS®. A member of The Missouri Bar since 1978, Aydt holds the following real estate designations and certifications: Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB); Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR); Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM); Seller Representative Specialist (SRS); Instructor Training Institute certified; member of the Real Estate Educators Association; Qualified Civil Property Mediator, State of Missouri; eCertified®, Prudential Real Estate Affiliates; and e-PRO® Certified, National Association of REALTORS®.

Active in all levels of REALTOR® organizations, Bruce was President of the St. Louis Association of REALTORS®, twice received their Distinguished Service Award and was named their REALTOR® of the Year. At the state level, he has chaired the License Law, Professional Standards and Risk Reduction Committees, and has been named REALTOR® of the Year.

For the National Association of REALTORS®, Bruce has served as a Committee Liaison to the Law and Policy Group and has chaired the Professional Standards Committee, Legal Action Committee, State Leadership Forum, and served on several Presidential Advisory Groups.

He has been named Educator of the Year by both the National Association of REALTORS® and the Missouri Association of REALTORS®. Bruce is the monthly columnist on ethics issues for REALTOR® Magazine and is the author of Missouri Real Estate Basics.

Aydt is a nationally recognized educator on real estate issues, speaking at state conventions and the National Association of REALTORS® Convention on several occasions.

Bruce and his wife Lisa have two daughters, Erin and Jamie.

 
 
R. Dennis McClelland, RCE, CAE, CMP, ePRO
Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice President

R. Dennis McClelland was the former Executive Vice President of the REALTOR® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (RAMP), Pennsylvania, for 23 years. There he served as Assistant Director and Director of the REALTORS® Educational Institute for 23 years.

Prior to his employment with RAMP, McClelland obtained his Pennsylvania Salesperson license in 1967 and his Broker license in 1972. He worked as a sales agent and construction project supervisor for seven years before forming McClelland Real Estate and McClelland and McKay, a general construction and contracting firm. During this time McClelland was a member of the Greater Irwin Board of REALTORS® serving as President in 1975 and 1982, and was active on committees of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® as well as District 6 Vice President.

R. Dennis has been active on the committees of the National Association of REALTORS®. He is a strong proponent of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and is a Golden "R" member. In 2000, he was selected as a member of the prestigious Almon “Bud” Smith Leadership Society. He holds the REALTORS® Association Certified Executive (RCE), the Certified Association Executive (CAE), the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), and the ePRO designations.

R. Dennis McClelland, a U.S. Navy veteran, and his wife Dale have three grown children and six grandchildren residing in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Florida.
