Mission Statement
 
 The mission of the Diversity Awareness Committee of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® is to promote diversity within our profession, to advocate for fair and equal access to housing for all, and to inform and educate our membership about the value of diversity and our responsibilities under fair housing laws.
 
 
 
Purpose
 
To identify and address the concerns and needs of members as it relates to diversity, and to assist in the development of actions. Coordinate the Association’s activities to increase diversity within the real estate profession and the MAR membership.  Promote changes in real estate business practices to reflect the growing cultural diversity within the state. Share diversity knowledge, expertise, analysis and information with all MAR members. To develop and implement fair housing and diversity partnership agreements.  To serve as ambassadors to diverse real estate organizations in MO. To identify diversity and fair housing education needs and goals.  To support local associations through education, technical assistance and/or consider financial support to enable them to organize and manage effective activities to promote REALTOR® diversity strategic objectives.
 
 
 
Definition
 
We respect the value of the individual. We recognize a wide spectrum of characteristics including race, color, sex, familial status, handicap (disability), religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, language, socio-economic circumstances, education, life experiences, and all other human differences contribute to uniqueness. We know that valuing diversity makes good business sense and helps to ensure our future success.
 
 
 
MAR Diversity Awareness Committee Meetings
 
The MAR Diversity Awareness Committee meetings are open meetings and held during the MAR Business Conferences.
