The MAR-Appraisal Section is an independent group within the REALTOR® association, comprised of Appraisers who have REALTOR® membership. We are self-supporting (ie membership beyond your REALTOR® dues is required) so that we can be self-governing. We do, however, receive legislative and administrative support from MAR as well as meeting space.
Our roots are in the REALTOR® association so we can battle tough Appraisal issues with the legislative weight of the MAR at our back. Our Section holds a seat on NAR’s Appraisal Committee so that our voice can be heard among Appraisers from all over the US.
We use your member dues to also enroll you in the MHIA (Missouri Housing Industry Alliance) and in MAAC (Missouri Appraisers Advisory Council). These groups are powerful allies in shaping our profession. You can learn more about these entities by visiting their website, reading our 2009 Section Brochure, or by attending our meetings.
